Technical Tour Announcement
The East Michigan
Chapter of the Air & Waste Management
Association is pleased to invite you to an evening technical tour of EQ
- The Environmental Quality Company's new indirect fired thermal
desorption unit (ITDU) in Belleville, Michigan.
Prompted by new Canadian Land Disposal Restrictions (LDR) that drastically limit the waste disposal options for northern oil refineries and the U.S. environmental laws that ban the usage of Canadian landfills for many types of organic wastes, EQ has installed an indirect fired thermal desorption unit (ITDU) at the company's facility in Belleville, Mich. Thermal desorption is a safe, established technology that has been used for years to manage refinery waste. This waste includes API separator sludge, tank bottoms, sewer cleaning sludge, etc. The unit complements the vast hazardous waste management infrastructure and industry experience already established by EQ. This unique tour is scheduled for May 13, 2010 and will be hosted by the EQ, located at 49350 North I-94 Service Drive, Belleville, Michigan 48111.
